Gotta admit the Apache is one **ll of a machine. But for my military era (1969-72), Hueys, Loaches, and Cobras did the work and saved a lot of lives. They defined "helicopter." But the chopper jockeys I knew really took their hats off to the guys flying the O1A "bird dogs," flying unarmed, "low and slow," down in the "Zap Zone." That took guts and was not an occupation with a bright future.
