Check out this link http://www.nps.gov/arch/parknews/news080808.htm for news of collapse of Wall Arch along the Devils Garden Trail in Arches National Park.
They interviewed one of the park rangers, and he was talking about how just the day before he had been sitting under the arch eating his lunch!
I saw that on another forum. Lucky no one was hurt. It's just a matter of time before they all collapse. Not to worry, though. In a million years, there will be plenty of other geological formations of which to take pictures.
There are shots of it, taken before it collapsed, in this thread: https://www.nikoncafe.com/vforums/showthread.php?t=154817&highlight=arches See posts #92 and #98
there is another thread discussing this, as well how very sad... but, understandable, i guess glad to see it immortalized in some photos here
I think gravity increases as I age---I run and walk slower than I used to, and going up-hill. . . . .I'm sure that must multiply the effect of gravity! Damn Newton--er, I mean Sir Issac!
