Arson house demolition

    This eyesore of a house has been standing on the town green for many months as the insurance company and the owner have battled over whether the fire was arson or not. Apparently the owner won, as the insurance company was unable to prove arson:

  3. At least your fire gutted homes come down in a couple months, around here it sometimes takes a couple YEARS. The house behind mine burned back in February of 2007, and while it's not a structural hazard, it is abandoned and probably infested with rats and other critters. It still stands, complete with a giant hole in the roof.

    This house was right in the center of the historic village. There was a lot of pressure from everyone to have it removed. It is next to the "big white church" and across from the picturesque village green:
