To remember September 11th, a flag is placed in Memorial Park in Odessa, Texas for every person who died that day. The small lake in the center of the park is surrounded by ranks of flags, the ring walkway paralleled with rows of flags. Flags move in unison with each breath of air. It’s a powerful and evocative sight. And tonight, after sunset, at twilight’s last gleaming, the flags flutter in a light breeze and the day ends.
