Being bright daylight, and shallow water the reflection of the bottom is quite visible and the rest of the color is the sky and clouds.

VR, VR, VR!! Sounds like you need to cut back on your caffine intake ;>). Seriously, great shots of a "hard to expose for" subject.
Good job Gale, black is not easy to photograph! I like the first one best!
