This restored B17G was at Gillespie Field in El Cajon for a few days last week. Rides were offered for a price. I stayed on the ground. This old War Bird is in remarkable shape, but it does cost money to keep it airworthy. It is based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Leica IIIf, Summaron 35/3.5 with Delta 3200 @ 800 for B&W; Nikon N80, Tamron AF 28-75/2.8, Elitechrome 200.

Awesome, Michael! Love the chunkiness of the 3200 grain and the elitechrome pics are perfectly suited for the subject.

I developed in HC110 Dilution B. If I used D76 the grain would be less pronounced. I was too lazy to mix it up yesterday, so I used what was ready.

Love the images and the grain, I just wished you had a little slower shutter speed to capture the full motion of the props.

I just checked on the shots I took with my D700. I used a Nikkor AF-S 300/4 @ F/16/1/60 sec. It has really good prop blur. I wasn't thinking about prop blur when I took these shots, just wanted some really good exposures on the slide film. There will be another visit of old war birds probably in June. A B17 and a B24. I'm really looking forward to that visit. I can't remember just when they will be here, probably when I'm out of town. :frown:

I like this one. It's balanced in more than one sense.
And the lone man helps with the scale.
