Baby Hawk?

Discussion in 'Birds' started by The Clam, Jun 26, 2007.

  1. A friend saw what she thinks is a baby hawk just sitting on the roof of a car on her street in Brooklyn, grabbed her camera and took these. Is she right (about the hawk, not about it being Brooklyn:tongue:) ?

BTW, I thought these were great. Taken with D50 and 70-300VR.

    Thanks Gary
  11. Excellent capture! Kestrels seem to be moving in closer into the cities these days. They can dine on all the pigeons they want - thankfully!!! (in the city, pigeons = flying rats).
  12. These little guys are a real hoot!

    Thanks for posting the pics
  13. This little one was on a parked car on a fairly busy residential street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn about 2 blocks from the East River. That's maybe 1/2 mile from midtown Manhattan (as the Kestrel flies).
