Baby "parts" (12pics!!!)

Discussion in 'Formal Portraits and Weddings' started by ShaunK, Jul 30, 2008.

  1. This is a concept I've been chewing on for quite a while, and finally got around to doing it. I took a bunch of pictures of Joseph, now 8 months, and cropped in close to show off certain "features". The idea is to put them into a collage frame or something for his nursery. Tell me what you think... I don't expect you to critique them all, but maybe let me know which ones you like and why? Thanks!

And here is my thought for the final product, something like this:

I like this idea. I might just have to "borrow" it. I am thinking that it would be great for Elijah, who is almost 9 months, and I was also thinking that it might be neat for Isaac, who just turned 6.

The only thing that jumped out at me with your collage would be to rearrange it just a bit. My eye went directly to the two shots of the feet/foot. I think they might need to be spaced out a little bit so it won't look like, "Ok, this is the foot section." I am a little weird like that...ok, did I just admit that?

Another suggestion to avoid the foot problem...since you have the one of both feet, you might consider including the one with the hand grabbing the foot instead of the one with the single foot. Again, just a thought.

I do like this idea though, and I think you did a great job with the pictures.
  3. I do "Baby Bits" collages for all my newborns. The moms love them.

    You did well with these.

  4. These are beautifully done, I really like them!
  5. Great suggestions! My wife had the same thoughts as to the order of the collage... to be honest, I kinda just threw it together b/c she wasn't home to consult while I was working on it... for the final product, she will be making the decisions as to what pics to use and where .

Thank you! I was inspired by the photographer I worked for last summer, he had something similar, and I always liked it.
  6. I love baby parts collages! Here's one I did for a set of triplets.

I've done that same template Shaun and it's a money maker. I think you did a great job.
  8. Nice one yourself! I kept mine plain b/c it's going to be all the separate pics in frames, so it needs to be a little more plain, but I like your layout.

Thanks! I wish this was for money! If I ever get into children photography, I'll keep this in mind.

An incredibly great series!! very well done!!
  16. Hi, I did, thank you.

Thank you both! It was hard to good shots, b/c when he gets attention, he wiggles all over the place! Next time, I'll do it when he's more tired and calm!
  17. great images
i don't like the BLUE eyes in #1.... too "freaky" for me
    otherwise, excellent images

i'm sure that ALL of my moms and dads would LOVE something like this
  18. I kinda agree with you on that one... what if I toned it down a bit, and made it not so bright? I wanted something a little more than just B&W for that image since it will be the center image of the collage.

Those images are outstanding, I love them. I completely agree on the first one though, what if you just left his shirt logo colorized?
