Back From Africa (Part 1)!

Discussion in 'Birds' started by bobhoge, Sep 27, 2005.

  1. We got back from 22 days in Africa last Thursday and have been sorting photos ever since. I decided to stop and put a few up here for you to look at:

We had close encounters with big cats:
    Lions: (D-100 70-200 AFS-VR +1.7TC @ 290mm)

    (D-100 70-200 AFS-VR +1.7TC @ 185mm)

Leopard at night, very close: (D-100 70-200 AFS-VR @ 80mm on board flash)

    Cheetahs: (D-100 70-200 AFS-VR +1.7TC @ 230mm)

    (D-70 80-400 VR @ 400mm)

    Many, many more to follow!,

Beautiful shots Bob. I really like the leopard shots. Nice little kitty cats. I look forward to seeing more of them. I went there several years ago. One day I'll get my negatives scanned and post some of them.
  3. Very nice series of shots Bob. Not something the average person sees in their lifetime. Course there is always the zoo.
  4. 14 days, man that must have been a trip and a half. To see animals in the wild compared to behind bars, man their cant be any comparison. Nice shots....... im in aweeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. Wow what nice shots and what a wonderful it must have been!

the cats are awesome... you should bring one with ya...
    Post more...
  10. Wow - just love the leopard. My wife and I spent a couple of weeks in Botswana trying to see one and only found one on the last day - though my wife is convinced she saw one walking through our, tented, camp site one night earlier, they are beutiful animals as you show.

Good shots Bob. I am so jealous.
  12. Well Bob, I haven't been on in a couple of weeks and I come back to find this! I now must catch up with all your Africa pics that I missed so far, these are awesome. Safari is on the absolute top of my "must do" list, I am hoping for summer 2007. Meantime I'll have to just be envious of your great pics and experiences!

okay, now I have to go through the rest of your posts.
