Back to St Augustine with a new D7000

Drove back up to the Alligator Farm to try out my new D7000 I got to keep my D300s company. Nikon 300/4 AF-s with TC-17eII on the tripod with flash and the D7000.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Keith - the 300/4 AF-S works remarkably well with the 1.4 or 1.7 TC. There is almost no detectable loss of IQ and this combination, while not particularly fast for AF, easily outdoes the various 500mm 3rd party zooms for IQ.

It is one of those lenses that takes the TC's extremely well.

i'm headed back this week
I would say there are about 6-10 pair currently. I'm still trying to find the Green Heron nest. I've never seen so many Spoonbills, though - SRO this year. Tricolor population is picking up too.

yea the spoonies were awesome, the flight shot opps were crazy, the place is crazy, it might be too good:smile:
