In one of the early threads about this trip, I mentioned that one of the benefits of a Lindblad Photo Expedition over their regular trips was that they sometimes went "Cruising for Composition". I did not explain what that meant, but now i will. The Photo Expedition Leader will work with the Captain of the ship to position the ship in a spot where the background makes for interesting photos. Then we do the rest...
On the last evening we had a spectacular sunset:
The ship crept along very slowly until we found just what we needed (a whale spout) in the foreground:
Later that evening we got this view:
And they found this Sperm Whale to add to the image, (a lot easier than using Photoshop :biggrin: ):
It even dove right on cue to make a dramatic exit:
Sometimes we went by zodiac for other compositions:
