Nice images! Thanks for posting this.

I've been driving to the Mississippi River from the Chicago suburbs to photograph eagles. As you might know, L&D 14 attracts eagles consistently and can yield many shots in flight as well as images of eagles diving for fish in the river.

My question is whether Starved Rock attracts the eagles as consistently, and if so, where they tend to congregate in the State Park. Also, it's my understanding that the eagles are long gone from the Mississippi River. But, given that this posting is so recent, I'm wondering if the eagles are still present at Starved Rock. If so, I might try to get out there early this week.

Thanks!

Glenn,

That's a hard call. It has been warm and the eagles usually hang around Starved Rock because the river is frozen with open water created by barge traffic. So it is hard say how concentrated they may be.

Give the folks a call before you head out.
