The angles and activity of the bridge are interesting.
Did you pop the bench with the tree behind it with flash?
I'd go back to the stairs and try again if you have a serious stair collection.

The bridge pivots vertically with the counter weight that is on the right side for larger boats to go through.

Yes, I bounced the sb-400 off the trees (actually impressed with this little flash)

I guess I could try again, its only 2 min. from work. I think it was just the time of day.

The sb-400 is really a nice unit, isn't it. Looks as if time of day made for a difficult exposure with bright sky and darker stairs. Will be educational to try different exposures there or even to determine the right time of day to capture those stairs. I remember some pea soup fog occasionally in that area which might enhance the stairs.<g>
