    Now in its 34th year, the Baltimore American Indian Center Powwow takes place over three days at Patterson Park. Peruse craft and jewelry vendors, enjoy buffalo burgers and other food, and bring chairs and blankets to watch the Native American Dance and Drum Competition (winners announced Sunday evening). August 22 to 24. $6 adults, $4 seniors and children.

    Summary: The Baltimore American Indian Center, established to assist American Indian and Alaskan Native families with moving into an urban area, hosts its 34th Annual Powwow at Patterson Park. The event is part of the center's effort to be a focal point for the Indian community for social and cultural activities and to educate non-native people about their communities. The powwow will offer Native American food and clothing, art, jewelry, a Native American dance and drum competition and cultural presentations. 

Hours are 2-9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-9p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and kids. A weekend pass is $15, or $10 for seniors and kids. For more information, call 410-675-3535 or go to http://www.baic.org.
