The annual Motor Muster at the Fire Museum of Maryland.

The show is on Sat. 13th of Sept., from 10 until 2.
    All motor rigs are welcome!!

This year Wise Ave. Cadets will be selling hot dogs, snow balls and
    snacks.
There will not be a bull roast.

As with last year, antique cars (15-30) will grace the field. You and your
crew are admitted free to the Museum. Rain or shine. Set-up begins at
    0800.
The Museum is planning to drive out its 1916/7 Mack bulldog for the first
time in about 18 years after doing extensive work. It is a High Pressure
Auxiliary wagon which means it has three big guns. (They're going to need
    help
pumping these...) They also expect to have the Fox pumping.

New this year is the Baltimore County Sheriff's Department, under the
leadership of Bob Brown, will be sponsoring this event. Several dozen
    modern
rigs are expected as well as EMS units, rescue units, antique and modern
Police, and motor cycles. Last year this show was later in Sept. and was a
smashing success: this year they're putting the two together.

Also helping to sponsor the show is the Baltimore County Arts & Sciences
Commission and the Seagrave Corporation. Admission into the Museum will be
free to the public all day. Please invite your friends.

Defenders’ Day – The Star-Spangled Banner Weekend

    Friday, Saturday & Sunday, September 12, 13 & 14

Join us for Fort McHenry’s flagship event! This three-day encampment and extravaganza is celebrated with over 100 War of 1812 reenactors, parades, military bands, fireworks, a symbolic ship-to-shore bombardment and much more!

The Star-Spangled Banner Weekend honors Defenders’ Day, Baltimore’s oldest holiday commemorating the bombardment of Fort McHenry and the writing of “The Star-Spangled Banner!” Events begin with a Friday evening ceremonial procession of War of 1812 “soldiers” from the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House to the Inner Harbor, followed by a ceremony at the amphitheater. After the ceremony the reenactors will board sailing boats and return with the 30’x42’ replica flag to Fort McHenry. Saturday and Sunday, activities include children’s programs, historic boats, military encampments/demonstrations and a “privateer’s auction” of “captured goods.” Saturday evening’s program, beginning at 6:00 p.m., features a concert, a musket firing tactical demonstration with volunteer reenactors from all over the country (narrated), a symbolic ship-to-shore bombardment and evening fireworks show.

    Dragon Boat Races

A dozen teams from area companies cut through the water from the World Trade Center to the Maryland Science Center. Crews will race in long, narrow boats that ride low in the water and have dragon heads affixed to their bows. Each crew has 22 members: a steersman in the stern and a drummer in the front, who sets the pace for the 20 paddlers. This weekend, teams will compete in 40 elimination heats, which will be held every five minutes.

Besides raising money for Catholic Charities' social-service programs, teams will compete to win the Dragon Cup.

Dragon Boat Races are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday September 13 at the Inner Harbor, from the World Trade Center to the Maryland Science Center. The event is free to watch. Rash Field hosts the staging grounds and celebration village.
