Last summer while driving through Mingo National Wildlife Refuge this barred owl flew across the road right in front of me. It landed in the shade less than 30 feet from the car and proceeded to sit and watch me. I had never had this much cooperation from this species in the past.

Thanks Karen. He/She flew a couple of times but stayed close each time. I was even able to SLOWLY leave the car and rest the lens on the roof.
    Thanks Nick
    WHO indeed! Thanks Darrell.
Thanks Randy. Had to open up the shadows a bit due to the high contrast filtered light.
Thanks Allan. I'm not used to this from these.

Nicely done, my friend. Exposure dead on, full resolution. focus on the eyes. The eyes have it and make these images pop! A most cooperative owl indeed.
  14. Those look great Aaron. Lovely eyes and great feather detail.

Thanks David. The best part is I didn't have to venture far from the car!
