Battery Chargers and External Power

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR' started by Retief, Dec 24, 2005.

  1. So, I have the D70 charger sitting beside the D200 charger. The former is larger, is the MH-18, the latter is a touch smaller, the MH-18a. Are they compatible for battery charging? The 18a does not have an extra contact, just the + and - like the 18, so it would not appear that the internal chip is doing anything. Anyone know for sure?

Also, I have a Digital Camera Battery, 350w one of the older ones. In checking with the manufacturer regarding the D200, the same cable for the D2X/H will work for the D200 as well. Same as the AC adapter. Anyone know why this would not work?

I was wondering also if the D100 AC adapter will work with the D200.
Prob not. (They want to make more money.) But demands of the camera may just be to very different.

Need to go do some reading somewhere.
  3. My D70s came with a MH-18a charger just like my D200 charger. My D70 has the MH-18.

The D2 series uses the same AC adapte as the D200.
    So go use it.
