BCNH catching a fish at the ladder

In a previous post I mentioned the fish ladder which helps fish get upstream and also helps seagulls and BCNH catch fish. Here are some images of a BCNH catching a herring.

Nice shots! But I don't think the BCNH is catching a "heron"!

Excellent series! Poor fish doesn't look too happy, while the BCNH is triumphant!

Thanks Glenn. One just watches the herons. Each one finds a spot and only move its head till it sees what it wants. Then - quick as a flash ...

These are really nice.
I know the equipment doesn’t get the shot, but shots like these have me really wanting the 600mm prime again. I am on a couple of waiting lists, but no luck yet.
Darn you, my wallet dislikes such images more and more.

Thanks Gary. I appreciate the comment.
I have had a 600 for many years. The only time I didn't have one were my last few years shooting Nikon DSLRs, when I had the 800 lens.
