These were taken in December 2003 with my first digital camera, a Vivitar something-or-other with 2MP and a battery life of something like 10 shots. Looking back at these, I would love to have the opportunity to shoot in such a nice place with a better camera. I'm using a Coolpix right now while I save my pennies for a DSLR (maybe after my wife returns from Europe this summer, I only wound up with the Coolpix because she wanted a really small snapshot camera since she will be herding a gang of middle-school students around London, Normandy, and Paris). These were taken in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the beach of the El San Juan Hotel and Casino. This is my favorite beach shot I've ever taken, low resolution, noise and all... Same beach, different time of day...
With shots like the second one you'll never convince the missus you need a new camera!!! You've just GOT to start taking horrible shots, out of focus, bad lighting, in order to justify a new one!! *LOL* VERY nice....
