Bear on the wrong side of the light

I tossed these last year as an unfortunate turn where the last salmon catch of the night left me with what I thought were uninteresting shots. Funny how they look better to me with a different eye one year later.

Nicely composed and presented. Glad you found them in the "trash". If it were me, I would lose some of the out of focus foreground, cropping off along the bottom. It doesn't add anything.
I read recently that most photographers that have been actively shooting for more than 10 years would produce better work if they stopped shooting, and spent that time going through their archives and relooking/reworking the thousands of images we already have. I am trying that, but new shooting is just too much fun
