Beginning the Glow of Christmas 2005

Discussion in 'Miscellany' started by beaucamera, Nov 26, 2005.

  1. The day after Thanksgiving is not just about "Black Friday" and shopping. It's also the time when many communities start their holiday season's with other ceremonies and events like lighting the community Christmas tree. Yesterday, downtown San Jose, California was no exception. In addition to the annual tree lighting, this is also the opening of the downtown ice skating at the Circle of the Palms outdoor rink. There are lots of activities for families at the park in the center of Market street: things to do, see and, of course, buy.

Here's a sampling of a couple of the pics I took. You'll find more here:

  3. Thanks, Paul. My flash failed me so I had to work with what I had, high ISO, noise and some blurry pics. That wasn't fun, but I did the best I could with what I had. Yes, the show was fun and I had a good spot at rink level to photograph from. That part was really great!

    Very nice Virginia,
I have never seen a live Ice Show.
  5. Nicely done, Virginia. Graceful ladies!.

Skating outdoor in a relatively warm weather should be nice since one doesn't have to wear «heavily» padded winter clothes.
  6. Dao, it was pretty cool that evening and the skaters didn't stay without warm clothing for long. As soon as the performance was over, they all dashed over for warmer gear!

P.S. Gale, maybe one day you'll get to see ice skaters in action. This performance was free and outside. That was a real boon for people to easily be able to see and enjoy the performance.
