Best (and most comfortable) strap

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by yahtzee, Jun 7, 2005.

  1. With the newest additions to my lense family, my next is sore and my mind is wondering.........wondering if my Tamrac suspension strap is strong enough to hold my 70-200VR or my 28-70 2.8......just dont feel 100% safe with it...what strap is everyone using (and enjoying)?

I recently started using an Upstrap. I don't think it is quite as comfortable as the elastic straps, but it does not slip off my shoulder like the Optech does.

    Upstrap LT

Upstrap LT with snap hooks. Very sturdy, but not the most comfortable.

I got the LT because it has quick-release snap hooks for easy and complete removal from the camera body. I had been using an Op-Tech strap with quick release-snaps, but when "removed" two 6 inch strap pieces remained on the camera. I found these 6 inch remnants got in the way when doing tripod work.

I also have those Tamrac neoprene straps on my D70, but still prefer the original strap on the D2h, it has less tendency to slip of my shoulder.

    I'm satisfied with the Op-Tech.

I've got the bag straps as well and find them well suited to the task.
  6. Op/Tech. I have one that is more than 10 years old and is still in
    perfect condition.

    Thanks Tony.

Yup, looks like it's back to my springy Op-Tech neoprene strap.
