Big Horn Sheep with a Too Short Lens

While walking in the hills above Penticton BC on Saturday, we spotted these California Big Horn Sheep getting some sun and taking in the view.

I only had my Olympus 12-40/2.8 with me, so this is cropped from my EM-1M1. I think it's withstood the crop reasonably well. This is one of those times when a longer lens would have been helpful.

Nicely done, especially with the lens limitation you had.
It never fails, I always need whatever lens I did not haul along with me. Sometimes I even have the lens with me, but have the wrong lens on the camera when the shot of a lifetime flashes by.
I have missed some terrific shots.

Better big horn sheep with too short a lens than short horn sheep with too big a lens. . . .

I like the environmental shots, otherwise they end up looking like zoo photos.
