Bird ID please

  1. Took this photo in the church parking lot across from "Big Red's favorite perch. I haven't been able to find it in my bird book yet. Sorry the photo isn't the greatest, but the lighting wasn't the best either!

  2. Looks to be an Eastern Kingbird. I do know it is a Kingbird, the variety I am not absolutely sure due to the angle.
  3. Thanks Dave! I may try to head back over there and see if I can get some more shots of it -if I can see it. It was a pretty little thing for sure!

    Not any kind of Flycatcher? They also look a lot like a mockingbird.

  5. I think Dave is right. I"m planning on going back over there and see if I can get more shots of it. Mockers are skinnier. Thanks for the input!

    I'm guessing this is a juvie Western Kingbird. I've looked at two books trying to figure this one out and that's what it looks like but who knows?
