Bird ID

Discussion in 'Birds' started by 3stones, Feb 22, 2005.

  1. Here in TX I'm only able to find some tiny birds to shoot. These little birds are killing me. They all look like and I'm really not sure their names.

    Is this Warbler or Chickadee?

3stones your second shot is of a Dark-eyed Junco.

I can't quite get a make on your first shot - Jannneettttt!!! :)

Love the mallards doing the bottoms-up trick.

  3. I think that first bird is a Warbler, but not sure which of the bazillion listed in Sibley  . The beak looks too long for a Chickadee, I think. I'd guess a Yellow Warbler in the "drab grey" 1st year vairant. Found that one on Page 371. I'm sure that Janet will be along soon and expose me for the fool that I am   . Now if someone would just come along for my Bird ID, dangit.....

As to the last shot, I believe that is the new Olympic summer sport, Synchronized Duck Dunking.
