Bird photos and videos with the Nikon 1 V3 and Nikon 1 70-300mm lens

Made photos and videos of flying birds today. The camera's ability to track flying birds is great but my video skills need some work.

well i hate to disagree but those are IMO not very good and no where near as good as what you posted using a dslr lens on a V3
the feather detail is smeared and they look dull and lacking in micro detail
Maybe it was the light

for $2k+ for body and lens I would expect much better

IMO a D7100 + 70-300vr is much better and I am willing to compromise some on IQ for size but not that much and i know on the V3 the 70-300 is like 200-900 or something crazy

Agree. Most of the photos were a heavy crop. The image does break down. I will make some photos and video today with closer subjects and try an ND or CPL for the videos. I am coming up the learning curve with this system.
