Birding with 200-400VR anyone?

Well, I guess it depends on what type of bird we're talking about and how close it allows me to approach ...

that is my birding lens, I note you have the 500VR, Like it?

Haven't gotten to try it yet. Will do so soon. I was struggling with the 200-400VR in a 5 mile hike yesterday and so, a 500mm lens will probably be overwhelming. That was also the main reason of not getting a 600mm.

When I look at your picture all I just want is to have 500 or even 400mm...
