The viewfinder lag has always been my hangup with mirrorless and sounds like they have still not overcome that issue. Until then it's a non-starter for me. Unless/until I give up shooting wildlife.

Judging by his results, I’d say the evf lag is simply a learning curve to overcome. He even says he got similar AF results using the D850 - what more could you want?

Also, shooting bee eaters is a bit like shooting insects, themselves; very fast, very erratic, and small. If you can get an acceptable keeper ratio shooting these birds, the body can handle virtually anything. It’s up the the photographer at that point.
