Birds at Lake Myvatn, Iceland

Discussion in 'Birds' started by bobhoge, Jun 25, 2007.

  1. In the continuation of our adventures... we rode in busses from Husavik to Lake Myvatn (Midge Lake). All those Midges make great food for the birds, fish and ducks at the lake. There are supposed to be 20 kinds of ducks here, we only saw a few of them between swatting at the Midges.

    A Eurasian Wigeon:

    A Slavonian Grebe:

    And a Barrow's Goldeneye:

The only decent image was a Redwing:

Great sights you saw Bob and Nan

The birds and duck and whales and landscapes we will never see.

Only a few folks get to experience these sights
