Birds At The Recreation Stop

Discussion in 'Birds' started by bobhoge, Apr 3, 2005.

  1. We stopped at the I-75 Recreation Stop again this year just west of Ft. Lauderdale.

There were quite a few birds there again:
    Wood Stork:
    18864447-M.

A Tri-colored heron having a bad hair (feather?) day:
    18864421-M.

    Another Tri-colored Heron:
    18864300-M.

This is a new one for us, a Purple Gallinule, in the Coot-Morehen-Rail grouping:
    18864506-M.

Check out the size of the feet!
    18864538-M.

    Wow Bog,

Great images. Good find on the Purple guy and that tri-color is tough to get. I be darned if I can get a good shot of one.

    Hi Bob

It's nice to have all of you folks that we know and love in Florida to keep us satiated with shots of all of these neato birds that we'd otherwise never get to see :)

I really like the Purple Gallinule....great stuff!

    Thanks,

    Jim
