Yesterday was birth day for the cranes - at least one of the two. The second one was still not out of the egg by the end of the day.

1. Here is a parent on the nest. It was cool for this time of the year so it stayed on the newborns almost the entire day. It was one of those - just wait for mom to stand up for 20 seconds, take a few shots before it sat down again for another hour or more.

2. Approximately a half hour after hatching

3. Peaking out about 6 hours later - light was quite harsh

Great work, Allan, culminating in a happy outcome for your series.
Thanks Eric. I was not able to get to the nest today - tomorrow will be my last day before heading home.

Great set an story, Allan. I really like no.3. Nicely done.
Thanks Dan.

These are so wonderful!! You have such patience!!
Thanks Terri.

Very well done, so cool to see the little colts sticking their heads out.
I really hoped to see this event. I missed in in 2017 when I followed a family for almost a month.

Wow Allan! Perfect shots of perfect moments!
Yes. Thanks Dossy.

excellent set, very nice.
Thanks Darrell.

Well worth the wait. Much crop on these?
Only on the 3rd one. I cropped there as the light was harsh and the full frame had many blown out areas.
