Black Buzzard Portrait

Last weekend, we took a trip up to Prime Hook Nature Preserve in Delaware. We came upon a photography blind with a closed door. I rattled the door before opening it and heard a great deal of fumbling around inside. I cracked the door open and found that a Black Buzzard was incubating it’s egg inside. It flew out of the blind and landed on the roof, watching me intently. I had to do it…
D7100 with 200-500 f5.6

unfortunately, the sky was overcast giving lousy color and a way-too-bright background.

The whole area was pretty dry, and there weren’t many creatures around to photograph. Kind of disappointing.
