Went over to Shark Valley last week to get some annual purple gallinules (which I did) but was mesmerized with catching this BCNH floating in the water just waiting to catch a fish. Gotta say I've really never seen them in this position before. Little overcast so didn't have to fight the sun. Taken with D850 on 500mm f4.

Interesting behavior. I knew that they(waders in general) can float but never seen them fish that way.

Gentlemen.........thank you much for your very kind comments. I too was surprised about how he sat like a duck to wait for his fish. I watched him take a couple but could not catch a frame of that action. A pretty quick little fellow as as soon as he napped a fish off he went. Thanks again for your comments.
