Black-crowned Night-Heron

  1. I don't know why but this bird totally fascinates me.
    Perhaps the distinctive colors and textures you find.
    Here are a couple of shots I took recently at the Palo Alto Baylands Park.

    They are a pretty heron for sure. I think the red eye is an attention getter too! Nice images!

    Isn't it amazing how different the adult is from the juvenile!

  6. Yes it is. They don't start off in life very attractive, but get better as they age. Wish I could say the same!

    Even though the palm fronds are little distracting, I'm still drawn to the first by the angle of the shot on the bird, and the beautiful gold blur background.
