Blue Dasher and Ebony Jewelwing

Discussion in 'Macro, Flowers, Insects, and Greenery' started by OHcorgis, Jul 5, 2007.

  1. Walking my dog, I was carrying my D70 with 70-300 attached. Had to crop in quite close so was surprised to get as good as I did with help from CS3.

The last one looks like our Calopteryx Virgo. Beautiful damselfly. You should always carry your 200 mm with you. You never know when you are going to need it.
  3. You are so right, the 200 is miles over the 70-300. But a tripod is a must for the 200 - walking dog and tripod, plus D200, plus 200mm - NOT. The 70-300 on a D70 is light for me to carry.

Jewelwing here is Calopteryx Maculata I believe. They are quite common in dark streams. Can be difficult to capture because they are so black and seem to like shaded areas.
