Blustery day on the prairies!

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by jirel, Feb 13, 2018.

  1. Our temperatures moderated a bit today to -7C from yesterday's -19C. However, this moderation was offset by wind gusts up to 80k. Walking on the ice and snow is somewhat hazardous so the dog will have to be content relaxing on the couch!

These photos were all taken within a mile of our house, limited travel only for the day.

I can feel the cold. Maybe consider Florida?
  3. Those are such classic prairie winter shots #2 could pass for one of Jim's (Pa) Antarctic pictures.

If you crop out the trees in #1 it would look like a plane flight over the Himalayas.

That's our Canada EH, nice work! in the great white north.
  8. Right now I would love to be in Florida!

Standing out in the wind looking over the fields reminded me of times when I was standing on the Arctic sea ice on a wintry day.

That would probably be as close to the Himalayas as I will ever get. LOL

    Thank you

Thank you, and, this isn't even that far north! (Just east of Winnipeg)
  9. I can feel the freezing cold, very nice images Jack.

Brrrr! #2 is it for me!
  11. Wow, well done. A hot-buttered rum all of a sudden sounds good. #3 Local roads is why I left Minnesota for California - below zero weather didn't help either.
  12. Thank you. This is why I tend to hibernate indoors much of the winter.

    Thanks. Brrr it was!
  13. If you're in California a Margarita with shaved ice would probably be better but I'll take the hot buttered rum!
