Okay, the serious runners...as mentioned, several didn't even run (incl Ryan Hall, the top US runner) and others DNF (last year's winner dropped out after ~21 miles)

Although the pace was slower than usual, it was an exciting tactical race, especially for the women. I watched it via live streaming.

Russ, the women went out conservatively because of the heat. At that stage they were running at 5:50 to 6:00 pace and the shot was taken head on, making them look like jogging.

Chris, how many spots did you travel to for the elite and amateur runner shots?

I only stayed in one place, it's real difficult, if not impossible to get ahead of them unless you're on an official vehicle, and trying to get close to finish after 7AM is virtually impossible.
