Went back to Bathtub Reef this morning hoping to get some better shots of the nesting Osprey pair, but I think they largely stayed away due to all the ppl there. I did see a lot of other birds though. Got lots of good flight shot practice in!
The last shot is a boy named "Clay". Shot with his mom's permission with the understanding I send her a copy. They were vacationing from N.C.

Hey, thanks Gale, ya, I know I made the right "move" by comin down here to winter. When I called up all the relatives IN on T-Giving, they said it was 22 deg up there! Never again do I want to experience those temps..... or worse! Love it down here. Looking forward to the day we finally meet up face to face!

  4. These are really nice pictures.
The Tern looks like a Royal Tern, some shorebird is a Ruddy Turnstone and some other shorebird is a Willet.
BTW what gear did you use for the flight shots?

Thanks for the IDs Dave. I used my D2Hs/500 f4+TC 1.4 for all these shots (700mm).

Thanks Ben, yes birds in flight with a 700mm lens attached is VERY challenging indeed!

Excellent shots Steve. You will have a blast at the Merritt III shoot with your 500.
