I'm shooting with a D850 and since I started shooting more landscapes I've also been bracketing my shots (usually a group of 5) for HDR stacking in post. However, I'm also shooting single shots interspersed with the brackets.

Can the D850 rename a bracket series to make them obvious (eg DSC-45-1.NEF, DSC 45-2.NEF.... DSC45-5.NEF)? Or failing that, what techniques are people using to delineate the start/end of a bracket series?

Thanks!

I'm not aware of any special way to name files that are part of a series of exposure bracketed image. Most folks just photograph their hand before the first image and again at the end of the series. I find that a series of 3 images of +2, 0 and -2 work for a lot of images. If there is extreme contrast then I shoot more images. Inside dark churches, I often shoot +2, 0, -2 and -4 to compensate for light streaming through strained windows.
