This 6 month old humpback calf was breaching repeatedly. Mom even did a couple, but she was very close to the bow of the boat and I couldn't get the shot. I did hear her 40 ton body hit the water about 200' away, though, a very loud and impressive sound. This shot is into the glare, which usually doesn't make the best photo, but there is something I like about it. A shot not into the glare. The calves often get more of their bodies out of the water than the adults, this one has only the tail left in. One breach, the calf almost landed on mom. Mom, named Blackhole, gets into the action.
