Breaching Humpback Calf

    This 4-5 month old calf is practicing breaching while mom is otherwise occupied. This is a necessary skill to learn early, as if they get seperated, all the calf has to do is breach and mom will know where it is. If a calf wanders off, it may breach as a call to mom, which mom will answer with a breach or tail slap of her own. The calf then can make a bee-line to mom, homing in on the sound.
