Nice series, Jay! You must have been able to get close to that eagle to get that shot with the 70-200.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes I was. Those are from the Zoo so most of the animals are locked in the cages and people are fairly close to those cages.

Excellent shots Jay. You did a very good job of holding the highlights on that Scarlett Ibis. Not an easy task.

Frank,
Thanks for your feedback. I was very pleased with this session. I would love to get a bigger lens to get even close but 70-200 performed like a champ !

I like the third from the last...side view of in-flight bird.

Sort of surreal effect with flash.

The shadow is nicely and softly feathered. Was it SB800 and diffuser or what?

Great shots Jay! I was in a similar position, except I had too much length. In a stupid moment, I brilliantly decided to leave the 80-200mm behind and bring the 300mm since it was a warm day. Lugging around 2 big lenses, monopod and the bag wasn't going to be much fun. Next time I will recruit the girlfriend to carry one of the lenses.

Here are a couple of my shots, rather mediocre I think...
(I hope this image link works, first time)

Eugene,

Nice pictures. 200mm was great but I wouldn't complain about 300mm :)

Check Bronx Zoo Part 1 topic. I think it felt couple pages down already.
