Brown Pelican in Breeding Plumage

    The Pelican

    A wonderful bird is the Pelican,
    His bill can hold more than his belican.
    He can take in his beak
    Food enough for a week;
    (Last line censored by me in deference to the family audience here)

    Taken today with a D2X and a Nikkor 105VR lens. Who says you need big glass for bird images?

  9. Nice shot Ron. Where did you find this guy? I know you were looking for some close up pics of these guys. I've got 2 islands down here if you want nesting shots or flight shots. Let me know. The boat is ready *-)
