Bruges

Discussion in 'Black and White' started by Bart, Nov 11, 2018.

  1. Some images from the visit to Bruges with Nick (@Palouse@Palouse) and his son Noel last October.

Starting at the entrance of the Beguinage and the Beguinage Church Saint Elisabeth and ending in the Church of Our Lady.

I still have a few more from the Sint-Salvators Cathedral but I'll put those in a separate thread.

  2. Another nice set! #10 is really nice. I wonder why all the trees in #4 are leaning to the right.

What a beautiful city! I enjoyed my time brief there many years ago very much!

You have expertly captured the essence of the scenes using strong compositions while dealing with wide contrast ranges. I especially like the processing of #2, 3, 5, 7, and 10.

  4. I have a shot with them leaning too :p

Wind blown by the strong and predominant southerly winds.

  5. Great set Bart. Even though all of mine are probably staying in color I do appreciate your light hand in converting these to B&W.
    I'll get mine out soon.

  6. Thank you, Mike, Karen and Nick!
    Very much appreciated!

The wind would indeed be the only natural explanation :)

Looking forward to see them, Nick.
Always interesting to see how someone else has seen the same subject.

  7. Very nice Bart. #12 is my favorite:) .
