Noticed in today's paper that the inventor of the Bayer filter has passed away. Here's a brief obit:

The filter uses twice as many green-filtered sensor elements as either red or blue since the eye is more sensitive to green wavelengths. I'm sure there have been other filters proposed, at least in academic circles, but wonder if any others have been used in practice. All cameras I'm familiar with use the Bayer filter. His work sure had a big impact.

Not a single comment about the inventor of something we all use in our cameras while the post on the actor Larry Hagman gets 3X the number of views and eleven replies !

Is this a photography forum or what? LOL
