Bull Frog

Not happy to see these guys in our local pond, there not supposed to be this far north and our cute little tree frogs make a nice snack for them.

Thanks Frank, I remember trying to catch these guys when we were kids they had there territories and were to find them but they were always too quick for us.

Hi twig, are those Green Frogs, we have them farther south but I haven't seen any around here there another introduced species like the Bullfrogs.

Just as a point of interest, why is the Bullfrog coming your way? Introduced-Global Warning or some other reason.

Hi Bob, Bullfrogs have been introduced to Vancouver Island many years a go as there were attempts at farming them for frog legs, they were let go as the farms stopped and they have spread slowly up island, they eat the smaller native species of frog and there too big for some of our predators to eat. They also eat duclings and pretty well anything they can get in there mouth.

At least they are not the Cane Toads which are causing havoc in Australia.
