Burma, as it was known then!

I dusted off my old slide scans, and could post more if anybody is interested.

This one was on Lake Inle at the floating market... I'm floating too.

Excellent shot...!

Sure, post more...

Thanks, glad you like it.

This was a day trip organized by the Government Travel Agency from our hotel, and only hotel in town. We were just the two of us, but got lucky when 4 people joined us to meet the minimum necessary to operate the tour.

A very small boat on a big lake... and I don't swim!

At the market there was another small group of tourists, on another boat; but otherwise we were alone surrounded by the local sellers and buyers. Mostly women, but there was this man too:

Beautiful shots.

Thanks, appreciated.

People were so nice, and they didn't mind us being in their face, smiling the best they could:

That last shot has impact. Wisdom aged and looks like a sweet lady. To me that's a powerful shot.

Thanks. I really like it too. She was indeed very sweet, but maybe not as old as she looks.

They were younger sellers too:

Wonderful images! Thanks for posting!

Thanks. Wonderful country and people to start with. Difficult to get there at the time, not enough time to go around with a 7-day visa, but a great place for our honeymoon. Here is another one:

These are all great, JC...!

Thanks again. Unfortunately with harsh lighting, slide deterioration, and difficulty to scan Kodachcrhome, one hits a wall. We are very lucky today in the digital age. This is the best I could do with this one that I like too:

Great work JC!

Hi Alex, glad you like them.

I'll get the vacuum cleaner out and dust off some from other towns.

Bye for now:

I don't mind that they may be a little deteriorated I just like seeing the images, especially
from an earlier time... These were shot well and they are still fabulous...!

Agree with you about digital, I love it...!

Thank you for taking the time to scan and post these, it just shows that you don't need the latest and greatest camera to take lovely shots

These are all fantastic! Real sense of history, especially in those with the wrinklier faces ;) Imagine they had seen some interesting times.

Thanks William. Glad you like them.

If you don't mind the deterioration, I'll post more oldies... starting soon with Calcutta.
