We went to Brookside Gardens, Wheaton, Maryland to scope out the Butterfly exhibit that they have. Here are some of what we saw:

Golden Helicon Butterfly - Heliconius hecale

Notice the colors on the outside of the wings:

    Morpho Butterfly - Morpho peleides

And this is what the inside of the wings look like:

    Morpho Butterfly - Morpho peleides

Gulf Fritillary Butterfly - Agraulis vanillae

Costa Rica Admiral Butterfly - Adelpha fessonia

Question Mark Butterfly - Polygonia interrogationis

Banded Orange Butterfly - Dryadula phaetusa

  2. Beautilful butterfly pics! Thanks for sharing. That question mark butterfly looks cool.

    Thanks Anydy!

    Thank you very much.

    Thanks Jim!

I was so surprised when I PP'ed them - I didn't want to take a flash, they would not let you use a tripod, the day was overcast, hot, humid, my FAVORITE kind of day - not! Thank you so much for your kind words.

Fantastic shots. What did you meter off of the first one with such a contrast in tones?
