butterfly shots

  1. Here are some new photos of butterflies.

    1. D70s + Nikkor 55-200mm DX + SB-800. 1/125s f/8


    2. D70s + Tokina 80-400mm + SB-800. 1/320s f/5.6


    3. D2H + 70-180m + SB-80DX. 1/200s f/7.1


    4. D2H + 70-180m + SB-80DX. 1/160s f/11

  2. Wow, aren't these sharp and colorful! I really like the backlighting on the last one.

    Vinh nice captures, #3 my favorite, looks like if you touched the picture you could feel the texture on the wing. Thanks for camera settings.

  5. Beautiful images Vinh. The wing on that first shot is really hammered but it is still an nice image. Well done.

  7. I like the red on the first one's wings but really like the backlighting on the last shot. All nicely done, Vinh!!

    Amazing photos! Gordon's right, it looks like the butterfly in the first photo really took a beating!

  12. I'm glad that you like them. Thanks all for your nice feedbacks. I am wondering why some of you like the backlighting in the last one. I thought it was not good because F/11 caused the background did not blur. I like the green blured background in macro shots as number 1 and 2.
