I was this weekend in both this archaeological sites which stand opposite to one another. And took lots of pictures. Not all are artistically-inclined, but some just might be.

This is one of the pyramids of Xochitécatl as seen from Cacaxtla.

Some I took with my telephoto lens which is not as sharp as I would like (and is non-autofocus in my D3200)...

Also Xochitecatl, as seen by the pathway leading to Cacaxtla

Here is a minor pyramid just opposite the main one in Cacaxtla.

Thank you Sean.

Yes Rob, it is a very interesting place. Archaeologically speaking, it is interesting because this site is quite far away from predominantly Mayan influence, and yet the frescos (not that one, but the one following) have definitely Mayan characteristics. Even to the fact that there are depictions of marine flora and fauna, when this is central Mexico...

Please excuse me for the quality of the pictures. The place was crowded, and the paperwork/permit/fee/etc for tripod etc use was too much for just a spur-of-the-moment quick trip.

Note the seashell and turtles at the bottom, yet the warrior is definitely not water-related.

Another Mayan-looking dude, this time with a leopard (or jaguar?) attire.
